GLUTEN FREE HEAVEN.
Crappy photo, I know.. but filled with pure amazinginess. I’m aware that’s not a word but I have no words for how happy I was when I walked into this store.. I found out about this place today called G-Free NYC on 85th street between Columbus and Central Park West. I attempted, and successfully made a fried goat cheese salad for dinner but I needed gluten free bread crumbs and flour and the local store on my block was far from helpful.
I walked in (it’s honestly one room smaller than my bedroom..) and literally felt like a child in a candy store. I dropped my jaw, my hands reached out for everything in sight.. You get the point. I could for the first time since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease when I was 14, eat EVERYTHING in the store. I went on a rampage and like usual, walked out with a tab so large I told the cashier I didn’t even want the receipt. I mean, honestly..The only point of a receipt is to remind you how much money you spent.
Who knew there were gluten free dumplings, wild mushroom ravioli? Today I felt like an actual human who could eat normal people food.
I can’t wait for lunch tomorrow… Some more gluten free heaven, plus leftovers I made of the most amazing dinner. Fried goat cheese over a bed of lettuce with tomatoes and a balsamic/honey/roasted pine nuts/basil dressing.
